• Release 0.9 (31/Oct/2002) gmninst0.9.exe (1.4 MB)
  This is the newest release that includes optimum line break and optimum page fill. MIDI Import and MuseData import is also included.
   
• Complete Sources as RCS files (31/Oct/2002) nviewsrc0_9_RCS.zip (1.68 MB)
  These are the sources that can be used with a Revision Control System. I strongly recommend using a RCS so that you can keep track of the changes. Just unzip the files in your RCS repository and check the files out. You can then follow the instructions directly below. All code is included and may be used freely for non-commercial purposes. Any commercial use requires the written consent of Kai Renz (renz@noteserver.org).
  Just checkout the files to a directory of your choice. Then open the workspace called nview32.dsw, which is in the directory "nviewsrc\Release 0.9\nview32\nview32.dsw".
   
• Complete Sources for Release 0.9 (31/Oct/2002) nviewsrc0_9.zip (1.5 MB)
  These are the sources that can be used directly with Microsoft Developver Studio (Visual C++ 6.0). All code is included and may be used freely for non-commercial purposes. Any commercial use requires the written consent of Kai Renz (renz@noteserver.org).
  Just copy the files to a directory of your choice. Then open the workspace called nview32.dsw, which is in the directory "nviewsrc\Release 0.9\nview32\nview32.dsw".
   
• Release 0.8a (13/Dec/2001) gmninst0.8a.exe (1.2 MB)
  This is the current release that improves tie-handling (just a minor update)
  For Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0 or higher versions.
   
• Release 0.8 (22/Nov/2001) gmninst0.8.exe (1.2 MB)
  This is the current release that improves a lot of things: chord handling has been changed so that tags can now be used within chords. The output has been improved for various other tags. Lyrics support is now available as well.
  For Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0 or higher versions.
   
• Release 0.6a (29/MAR/2001) gmninst0.6a.exe (1.2 MB)
  This release fixes a bug that prevented some users to use release 0.6 on Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 95. It is strongly recommended to download this version.

Many of the Basic GUIDO tags are supported.

You can view and edit the GUIDO Music Description by using "View -> Edit GMN-Text" or by pressing Ctrl-E when viewing a file. The GUIDO-Text is displayed and you can edit it. If you press the "Accept"-button, your changes are regonized and the piece is drawn anew. When the view-window is closed you are asked whether you want to save the changes. You can also save your changes by using the File -> Save Menu or by pressing Ctrl-S.

EPS-output (Encapsulated Postscript) is available (as an alpha-version). Use "Save as" and select the correct- file-type.
 

Important notice for updating to a new release

Please uninstall any previous versions of the GUIDO NoteViewer before installing any newer release. Please make sure to copy all of your changed files from the examples-directory, as some changes have been made.

Bugs fixed by the Bugfix-Release 0.1b

The Bugfix-Release 0.1b fixes a bug present in Version 0.1
that prevented the GUIDO NoteViewer to start on some
systems (msvcirt.dll was missing in the installation).
There was also a bug concerning the "Virtual-Page-Size"-
Dialog which now has been fixed.
If you want to install the Bugfix-Release on top of
an already existing installation, it is recommended, that
you first save your own/changed GUIDO MusicNotation-Files (gmn).
Please make sure, that you copy all files from the "examples"-
Directory, if you have made any changes.
Next, UNINSTALL Version 0.1 of the GUIDO NoteViewer. You
can do this from the "Start"-Menu in Windows 95/98 by
choosing "Settings -> System -> Software".
Then install Verions 0.1b by running gmninst.exe and follow
the instructions.
